Description

FIFOX SB 1.5GM INJECTION is a combination medicine used for the treatment of infections of the lower respiratory tract, ears, skin and skin structure, etc. caused by susceptible bacteria. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 28 days of age (neonates).

USES OF FIFOX SB 1.5GM INJECTION
  • Bacterial infections
  • This medicine is used for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacterial species that are resistant to commonly-used systemic antibiotics or ceftriaxone alone. These infections may include urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial septicemia, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc.
  • Bacterial Meningitis
  • This medicine is used in the treatment of meningitis, which is an inflammation of the protective membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. This infection may be caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Neisseria meningitidis.
  • Skin and Skin Structure Infection
  • This medicine is used in the treatment of infections of the skin and skin structures caused by susceptible bacteria. These infections may include infected wounds, folliculitis, abscesses, cellulitis, ulcers, etc.
  • Acute bacterial otitis media

HOW SHIFACEF 50 SYRUP WORKS

FIFOX-SB is a combination of two medicines: Ceftriaxone and Sulbactam. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ceftriaxone against bacteria.
